Vision and mission

What I see

Boys maturing in community

I envision communities, neighborhoods and extended families gathered around our adolescent boys to support their transformation from childhood into personhood through local, communally-guided initiatiatory ceremonies, so that they become young men with a deep appreciation of kinship, and a willingness to take on the responsability of serving life.

What I do

FOSTER KINSHIP IN SERVICE TO LIFE

I help parents of boys navigate the uncertainty of adolescence by fostering strong rites of passages rooted in community.

I work to connect with parents who share a longing to democratize the rites of passage, from boyhood to personhood, in a time of widespread communal collapse–when extended family, neighborhood, community and village are increasingly a rumour, something we long for, hear about, but rarely experience.

I host forums online and in person for vital wonderings with parents and caring adults about boys and young men.

I curate resources that stir our shared bone memories of life-stage transitions in a village setting.

I share practices towards local and timely ways of bringing communal rites of passage back home so we might collectively transform boys from late childhood towards an early maturity and an adulthood marked by a passionate commitment to life, and a capable willingness to be responsible for its continuous renewal and flourishing.
